About the Author

A partner at IP Asset LLP Nicholas Fox is a European and Chartered British patent attorney and  solicitor specialising in computer-related inventions. He initially qualifed as a barrister and is also admitted to the bar of the state of New York.

He was the advocate in the High Court on behalf of the Oneida Indian Nation on appeal against a decision of the Comptroller and on behalf of a consortium of four small British companies prompting a change of policy of the UK-IPO towards claims directed to computer readable media.

He has taught on the JDD European Qualifying Examination course since 2003, lectures on litigation for the European Patent Academy and is a guest lecturer for the M.Sc. and 


 
certificate courses at Queen Mary, University of London.

He is a joint author, together with Derek Jackson and Paul Denerley, of the Advice for passing the European Qualifying Examination booklet available from the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.
